Indications
Ventolin is used for the management of symptoms associated with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and bronchospasm. It is also used to relieve exercise-induced bronchospasm in patients with moderate to severe asthma.
Dosage
The recommended dosage of Ventolin for the relief of bronchospasm is 2.5-5 mg, taken as an oral single-dose or divided into multiple doses. The maximum recommended dose is 5 mg per day. Patients with impaired liver or kidney function may be started on 1 mg per day. Hepatic impairment may be given in one or both legs before the dose is given. The dose should not be exceeded in patients with hepatic impairment and patients with severe liver or kidney disease.
Administration
The dose and duration of treatment should be given with extreme care in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
Preparation and Administration
Ventolin should be taken with food.
Dosing
Ventolin is administered intravenously once every 24 hours in the treatment of bronchospasm. The dosage should be increased as the patient's lung function and renal function may be impaired. The maximum recommended dose is Ventolin 3.5-5 mg every 8 hours as needed. It is essential that Ventolin be given with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance, bronchodilators, bronchodilators with abnormal electrical activity in the brain, and patients taking opioids. Ventolin has not been prescribed in patients with cystic fibrosis. Ventolin should not be administered to patients with any of the following conditions: severe renal impairment; patients with a positive family history of respiratory disease, known allergy to albuterol or other beta-adrenergic antagonists. These symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea. Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) may experience symptoms of asthma, such as wheezing and shortness of breath. Some patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) may experience anaphylactic reactions. If symptoms do not improve after 2-3 days, a dose increase is usually needed.
Precautions
Patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh class B) may be started on Ventolin before the dose is given. The dose should not be exceeded in patients with severe hepatic impairment and patients with liver or kidney impairment.
Interactions

CYP2C9 and CYP2D6 are moderate selective inhibitors of CYP2D6, while CYP2C19 is an inhibitor of CYP3A4. Therefore, it is advised to start Ventolin at a lower dose and increase the dose until the patient's hepatic function returns to normal.

I've been on Ventolin for a couple of months and noticed a little bit of a difference in my breath sounds. I know, it's a reliever but I feel it's a mild thing. I've had the medication last week for asthma but I've been using it twice a day so I'm not sure it's a difference. I think it's just my breathing. My doctor said it can have some of the effects of a minor stuffy nose. I haven't had this yet but it's been a while and it's been going for a long time. I just feel a little better.
I take it in the morning and I feel a little better. My hands and feet are feeling fine. The only thing that is worrying me is that I feel a little sick.
I'm not going to get a refill for a second. The stuffy nose doesn't bother me, I've had it in the past. I feel better the better. I take it a few times a day and I don't have to go up and down because I need it to work. I just feel a little better and that's all. My doctor gave me another dose. He says it's worth it.
My blood pressure is down, my heart rate is down, my pulse is down, and I don't have to get up to go to work to get it down. My nose is down, my breathing is down, I'm tired, and I'm not sleeping well.
I'm going to put on my sunscreen and take a breath of air. I'm feeling very tired and my breathing is going to be terrible. My doctor says it can cause a stuffy nose but it's not something he's going to want me to do. I'm hoping that doesn't affect me. I don't want to get the bad breath. It's bad for my heart. I have a bad run of the hands and feet. I'm still running and I'm going to get the bad breath. I'm not sure if this is good for my heart but I have a bad run of the hands and feet and I'm going to get it. My breathing is terrible, I have a run of hands and feet and I can't get my breath to go up. I'm still running and I can't get my breath up and down. I take the breath of air and it doesn't bother me. My hands and feet are fine but I can't get my breath up and down.
I took it in the morning and I feel a little better.
