Ventolin is commonly prescribed as an aerosol inhalant administered through an inhaler. For most individuals, two inhalations should be taken every four to six hours. This usually comes out to about two inhalations four times a day. More frequent inhalations are not recommended.

If you are using Ventolin as anaerosol inhalation, you should place the inhaler into the mouthpiece of your medicine cabinet. Make sure the mouthpiece is not about to split or budge. Try to push the inhaler into the mouth instead of into the mouth, as this will reduce inflammation.

If you forget to take your Ventolin inhaler, take it as soon as you remember. To make up for a missed dose, take it on the same day you take your Ventolin inhaler.

To ensure that Ventolin is inhaled evenly throughout the day, use your inhaler with the following precautions: holding the inhaler upright, not in the mouth, not resting it on the floor, and not touching the powder in the mouth.
